SUPPORTER INFORMATION | Introducing Magpie Trust's Disability Liaison Officer

Back to Blogs

In July of 2015 UEFA stipulated that all member clubs who wished to compete in their competitions must appoint a disability access officer (DAO) to support the provision of inclusive, accessible facilities and services. Whilst we are a long way from competing in those competitions we believe that no one should feel unable to attend a game at Victory Park and have introduced a Disability Liaison Officer to the Magpies Trust board. it will become the role of the DLO to make Chorley Football Club inclusive to all. The DLO will focus on removing barriers that may be impacting supporters being able to visit or fully enjoy their visit to the club.

Magpies Trust can now confirm that Alison Butcher has been appointed to the role of Disability Liaison Officer and she already has number of initiatives planned, aimed at improving the match day experience for both home and away fans with disabilities.

"I'm excited to take on this role of Disability Liaison Officer with Magpies Trust. I feel that my personal experiences will assist me in doing the best I can for supporters with any access requirements that attend Victory Park. There are a list of projects that I would like to concentrate on, some long term and some short term. Hopefully over the coming months you will notice a difference around Victory Park for supporters with disabilities."

Alison will support the establishment of user led dialogue between the clubs disabled fans and the club, via Magpies Trust. She will also utilise our supporters trust network to liaise with other clubs to find out about their disabled facilities for supporters.

If you have any questions or comments regarding disability access issues whilst watching Chorley Football Club then you can contact Alison by emailing dlo@magpiestrust.org
