MATCH PREVIEW | Peterborough Sports

Back to Blogs

In a tense game where only a win would do to remain in the playoff hunt, Jack Sampson finished a pressure penalty in the ninetieth minute to see off Peterborough Sports in this equivalent fixture last season.

On Tuesday evening, the Magpies played out a 1-1 draw away at Scarborough Athletic in an entertaining fixture. Chorley had the best of the first half and deservedly took a 1-0 lead into halftime thanks to Carlton Ubaezuonu before the hosts grew into the game in the second half. Today’s visitors recorded an excellent 2-0 home win over Darlington to move them to fifteenth in the table and just a point off the Magpies in ninth.

Peterborough Sports’ playing record in the National League North for 2022/23 was:

14th. Played: 46. Won: 15. Draw: 12. Lost: 19. Goals For: 50. Goals Against: 55. Points: 57.
