£700 Raised for Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Sporting Memories

Back to Blogs

This week we transferred £350 to Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Chorley FC Community Foundation, raised by our sponsored activity challenge in January.

The donation to Rosemere was made in memory of Chorley FC supporter Lionel Barker. Rosemere support cancer treatment in Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Sporting Memories organise weekly sessions, including one held at Chorley FC, to help dementia sufferers socialise through sport, and do much more besides.

We want to thank all of the forty people who took part in the challenge, including ex-Magpies Adam Roscoe and Paul Jarvis. Thanks also go to those who sponsored us.

We chose to support these good causes after a discussion at a members’ meeting. So if you have any local good causes that you think we should help with our next fundraising effort, make sure you attend our next members meeting on Wednesday March 3rd 2021.

We are considering doing another outdoor activity challenge, socially distanced of course, in the summer months. So please keep an eye on our website and social media if you want to take part.
