PROGRAMME PIECE | Spennymoor Town

Back to Blogs

A warm welcome to the supporters, directors and everyone connected with Spennymoor Town – You most certainly find it warmer down in Lancashire than we did in Spennymoor on Boxing Day.

This article was again written on the way home, but this time it was a joyous journey as we came away from Brewery Field with three points thanks to a2-0 victory. I will leave the match reporting to the experts though and move into the supporter involvement.

Much like I wrote in the Curzon programme regarding how proud the Scunthorpe fans should be with their efforts, Spennymoor sit quite high in my regards too.

Today's visitors over the last 5 years have raised £4125 for pitch heaters, £2750 for medical kit, £8000 for seats around Brewery Field and £7000 to improve the turnstiles at the ground. That got me thinking, surely we can do this for Chorley Football Club.

We are a strong fan base, we have part ownership of this historic club, we have a responsibility.

You will hopefully see some more information over the next few days or so about how we, the supporters, can support the club further on this progressive journey.

I would like to end these programme notes by wish you all the best for 2024. Achieve your goals, and help us achieve ours.

Julian
