PROGRAMME PIECE | Southport

Back to Blogs

A warm welcome to Victory Park to today’s visitors from Southport. A special day here today as we all join together as a football family to support Jack and Hannah in their time of need.

I would like to thank all Southport fans for their efforts over the last few weeks, it really does show that football can - and will continue to - bring people together. It’s more than just a sport.

This evening Magpies Trust will co-host 'A Night At The Races' as part of the fundraising efforts. We are honoured to be part of what promises to be an amazing night and a great laugh amongst football family.

Since the news broke over a week ago about Boyzone being involved with Chorley FC we have been asked several questions by supporters. We have released a statement on our thoughts which can be read on our website. In summary, we are positive and will remain positive until there’s something that causes us to think otherwise. It also stresses that supporters are as important as ever to help our club progress.

Over the last week we have had a steady rise in membership which has seen us reach the 100 milestone. At time of writing, we are at 111 which is absolutely fantastic. Thank you to each and every one of you for joining.

A small snippet from our statement sums up what I’d like to say here, and it’s what we can offer you in the immediate future.

The Trust will always play a vital role in the development of Chorley Football Club as we represent you, the fans. We have two supporter elected directors who sit on the football club board and participate in meetings involving Jamie Vermiglio and other key stakeholders at the club. We have access across all areas of the football club from the first team manager all the way through to day-to-day staff. This gives Magpies Trust the platform to voice your concerns to anyone around the club

Do you want to be part of this journey? You can register as a member of the trust through a few easy steps on our website or speak with a representative at Trust HQ. If you can give some of your time then consider becoming a volunteer. We have a range of roles available and will always take general help around the trust.

Thanks again for your support. Enjoy the game.

Julian
