PROGRAMME PIECE: King's Lynn Town

Back to Blogs

It’s been a busy few weeks both behind the scenes and in the public eye for the Trust as we get set to see out the remainder of this campaign as well as preparing for the new one. Our AGM is just around the corner but I will hold the details for that until they are finalised in the next month or so.

Whilst we are on the subject of the end of the campaign, voting is still open for the Supporters Player of The Year Award until 3pm today with your final chance to vote being the Easter Monday fixture against Scarborough. We are aiming to announce and present the award at the conclusion of the Peterborough Sports game on 22nd April – If this changes, we’ll let you know via our social media channels.

This past week Victory Park has undergone it’s annual ground grading inspection and whilst we appreciate that the ground needs much more than a lick of paint here and there, we would like to pass on our gratitude to the Trust members who volunteered some of their time last weekend picking up brushes. It certainly gives our home that little bit of shine. The more pressing matters around the ground are being discussed and with your help, maybe we could achieve those goals soon?

Keeping in line with making the Club’s home tidy, we’ve also done some small adjustments to our own home at Victory Park. If you’ve not heard yet we have become the new owners of the old ‘Pika Pika’ shack and renamed it to Trust HQ. This now gives the Trust a base of operations on matchdays where you can purchase programmes both old and new, Golden Goals and even 50/50 draw tickets. We accept both cash and card too. Come and visit Trust board members on match days to see what we’ve done to the place or just to have a chat.

At our Trust meeting last month it was confirmed by the Football Club that they are looking into outside investment and the possibility of a new owner (or owners) could be something we are facing in the very near future.

The Trust welcome the interest posed by potential investment and we are very much looking forward to working with any new prospective custodian of our club. It has taken a lot of hard work, dedication and of course not forgetting the very generous donations from our members to get to the position of owning 9.5% of the club. The Trust are keen to continue this path and develop the organisation with the help of you, the fans.

During this and any further take over, Magpies Trust can and will be the voice of the supporters. We will always endeavour to do what is best for the supporters whilst maintaining our main aims and objectives in supporting Chorley Football Club and the community.

Again, thank you for your continued support and enjoy the game!

Julian
