PROGRAMME PIECE | Alfreton Town

Back to Blogs

Welcome to Victory Park for tonight’s Vanarama National League North fixture against Alfreton Town – A big welcome to the supporters from Derbyshire.

You may have learnt recently that there have been some changes on Companies House relating to Chorley Football Club. We have seen supporters picking up on this information and we wanted to assure you that it has not gone ignored. We have already said our thanks and goodbye to former custodian and Club Secretary Graham Watkinson and now it’s time to say thank you to former manager, Chairman and custodian, Mr Ken Wright. He has now been offered the position of Life President.

Ken has been a figure around Victory Park since the 1980’s and has overseen some of the best highs such as the Wolves FA Cup giant killing and the real lows which almost saw the club fold during the early 2000s.

We would like to thank Ken for his service to the Magpies and we congratulate the Club on making the decision to rightly present him with the title of Life President. You can see our full statement on this news on our website where we have gone deeper into the history books.

We have also learnt this week that there has been a further change behind the scenes as Cal leaves his position of Head Groundsman slightly earlier than anticipated. He has swapped the National League North for the Danish Superliga and the Champions League. Cal was a big supporter of the Trust and what we are trying to achieve at Victory Park. We wish him all the best for the future.

And finally. This Thursday we will be hosting our first meeting of the calendar year. Join us in the social club from 7.30pm and ask your questions to the Trust Board and other key figures of the football club.

Enjoy the game!

Julian
