MATCH PREVIEW | Alfreton Town

Back to Blogs

Having been halted in their tracks by the falling rain, the Magpies’ began their 2024 calendar with a tough away test at Alfreton Town on January 6. A 2-0 defeat was a disappointing result yet the Reds’ haven’t been beaten at The Impact Arena since the end of November. Currently sitting in eighth with games in hand on all the teams above them, Billy Heath has assembled yet another side that will operate at the top end of the table come the end of the season. Whilst Chorley were playing out a 1-1 home draw with Farsley Celtic at the weekend, Alfreton came from 2-0 behind to clinch victory away at Southport. Tonight’s fixture should be a stern test for the Magpies.
